Volume 6 - Letter From The Editors
Most of you are aware that we lost Guy Lafond to cancer in 2013. An enormous gap will never be filled... It was only through his leadership and insight that "Prairie Soils and Crops: Scientific Perspectives for Innovative Management" was initiated. He conceived the idea of an E-Journal for Canadian Prairie crop consultants and producers and he was its major driving force. The future of the journal is, at this point, uncertain. For the purposes of this letter, I will speak as "we" since we both developed ideas for the content of this issue.
We are pleased to present the sixth issue of Prairie Soils and Crops. The theme of this issue is "Understanding the Basics of Crop Growth and Development". We have enlisted authors with extensive knowledge and expertise to review important crop physiology topics and issues that influence crop production on the Prairies. Some of the topics are a bit complicated, but in all of the articles, we have attempted to provide some crop management insights.
We hope you find this crop physiology issue informative and useful.
